Philip Simons Picot was killed in action in the Dardanelles on July 11th, 1915, He was 26 years of age, and at the time of his death held the rank of Captain attached to the Royal Scots. Soon after the war broke out he obtained a commission in the Sherwood Foresters, within a month he was promoted Captain, and volunteered for service in the Dardanelles.
He was educated at the Camborne School of Mines, and on completing his course he went out to Penang, Straits Settlements, where he held a post with the Eastern Smelting Co., Ltd. He had not been there six months when the war broke out, and he speedily resigned his position and returned to England.
Mr. Picot was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1913.
