Henry Rawlins Cope Morgan died on 24 February. 1966. He was 78 years of age.
Educated at Redruth School of Mines, Cornwall, Mr. Morgan was engaged in prospecting and managerial positions in Malaya before serving in France and Russia during the First World War. In 1919 he joined Anglo-Continental Mines. Northern Nigeria, as manager, and later became general manager of a number of companies within the group. After spending some ten years in Nigeria he returned to the United Kingdom, but subsequently undertook mining work in East Africa and Siam. At the outbreak of the Second World War he moved to what was then Southern Rhodesia. He took up residence in Northern Transvaal in 1942.
Mr. Morgan was elected to Associate Membership of the Institution in 1914 and was transferred to full Membership in 1926.
