Christian Laurence Green died in Malaya, after a heart attack, in March, 1939, at the age of 44.
He received his technical training at the Camborne School of Mines, which he left at the beginning of the Great War with a first class diploma. He served throughout the war with the Hampshire Regiment and was mentioned in despatches; he was severely wounded.
After demobilization he returned to Camborne for a brief period, and then joined the staff of Messrs. Osborne & Chappel, of Ipoh, Federated Malay States. In 1927 he was admitted to partnership in the firm, and he was also an unofficial member of the Federal Council, a member of the Perak States Council and Vice-President of the F.M.S. Chamber of Mines, of which he was President in 1935. He was also director of several tin mining companies.
Mr. Green was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1920 and was elected an Associate in 1926.
