Archibald George Moore Bevan died suddenly at Honda, Republic of Colombia, on May 2nd, 1925.
He began his professional career in the Republic in 1890 and remained there until 1911, during which period he was employed by the Silencio Gold Mining Co., at Organos, by the Colombian Hydraulic Mining Co., by the Colon Gold Mining Co. at La Rica, and by the Totumo Alluvial Gold Co., Ltd., at Ibaqué.
From 1902 to 1911 he was manager for the Palenque Gold Mining Syndicate, at Honda. In 1912 he was appointed chief engineer to the Liberian Development Co., Chartered and Limited, and remained in West Africa for several years. Following that engagement he was employed for some time at Puerto Plata, Republic of Dominica, and eventually returned to the Palenque Syndicate at Honda.
Mr. Bevan was elected a Member of the Institution in 1914.
