Alfred Henry Bell died [in Bulawayo of enteric fever*] in January, 1909.
Born in 1869, he was apprenticed to Messrs. Robey & Co., at their Globe Works Lincoln, and afterwards entered the Royal School of Mines [Graduated 1890*].
After working for a few months at the Lelant Mine, Cornwall, he went to America, where he held various appointments, and on his return to England he was appointed Manager of the Cefn-eveh Gold Mines, Bedgelly, which position he held for one year. He subsequently held various positions in Rhodesia, and at the time of his death he was in the service of the Consolidated Gold Fields of South Africa, Limited.
Mr. Bell was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1895.
