At least two veins have been worked at Moor End; the first of them runs roughly north to south, for some 100 metres, at NGR SD676511, and the second, at SD676509, runs east to west and is traceable over a length of about 200 metres.
In October 1849 Moor End was leased to Stephen Eddy, of Grassington, for 21 years by Mr Towneley. The 1851 census records that Thomas Parmley, of Grassington, a lead miner, was living at Newton.
