Blaengarw, Garw Valley
There was a Victoria pit as part of the Ffaldau Colliery but in 1893/6 this Victoria is listed as being owned by the Blaengarw Colliery Company of Swansea and by 1900 it was owned by the New Blaengarw Colliery Company.
It was located at Blaengarw it employed 84 men underground and 8 men on the surface. The manager was William Hunter. At the same time, the Victoria Level was owned by the Ffaldau Colliery Co. and employed 4 men producing house coal. This mine was not listed in 1917 or 1932 but is shown as working in the 1920s under the ownership of the Glenavon Garw Company Limited. It produced house and steam coals.
