Seven Sisters, Dulais Valley
In 1945 this mine was owned by Evans and Bevan of Neath and employed 88 men underground and 22 men on the surface. The manager was I.J. Phillips.
On the Nationalisation of the Nation’s coal mines on 1st January 1947 this level employed 39 men on the surface and 114 men working underground in the Brass Vein. It was closed by the National Coal Board on the 7th of November 1953.
This was also the name of a licensed mine (756024) that worked in this area in the 1970s under the ownership of T. Phillips of Seven Sisters. It employed two men in 1970 and closed in 1972.
