This was a drift mine with at least seven entrances that was worked by the Crawshay Brothers (Cyfarthfa) Limited in 1896 when it employed 51 men underground and 5 men on the surface and David R Morgan as manager. In 1908/9 it employed 151 men underground and 15 men on the surface, in 1911 it employed 176 men and in 1913 this mine employed 200 men and was managed by Matthew Truran. In 1918 it employed 63 men underground and 5 men on the surface. It was still listed as working in 1923 when it employed 87 men working underground and 14 men working at the surface of the mine. It worked the Bute seam between 1908 and 1915 and the Nine-Feet seam between 1914 and 1922. It was abandoned in March 1924. This Company was a member of the Monmouthshire and South Wales Coal Owners Association.
