FENCE No.1 DRIFT
This 1 in 3 drift was linked to Wood End Colliery, which acted as an upcast pit, in 1947 and began coaling in 1948. Designed to have a high productivity, this short-life mine worked a block of Arley Mine. It closed in October 1950.
FENCE No.2 DRIFT
This high-productivity drift was sunk in 1949 and was soon linked to Reedley Colliery. It too worked the Arley Mine, but also worked the Dandy and Arley Yard Mines. Like Reedley, it too ceased production in 1960.
