Farnacres Colliery Inrush – Gateshead – 1842

FARNACRES. Gateshead, Durham. 9th. December, 1842.

The colliery was inundated with the loss of five lives. This reference appears in Galloway but it may be confused with an accident through an inundation which occurred at Fenwick colliery near Belford in which two men lost their lives.
