An active publishing policy has earned the Northern Mine Research Society a well-deserved reputation for its British Mining Series of books; 2015 marked the publication of British Mining No 100. Each year we aim to publish two books; the Monograph is a comprehensive account of research into specific aspects of mines and mining, often in a named area, whereas the Memoirs contains the results of member’s researches, with a variety of shorter articles.
