The colliery worked the Upper-Two-Feet-Nine seam between 1924 and 1925, the Upper-Four-Feet in 1926, the Upper-Six-Feet in 1926, the Four-Feet was worked between 1927 and 1931 and then again between 1934 and 1936 and 1940 and 1947. The Six-Feet was worked from 1927 until 1931, the Twenty Inches seam was worked from 1929 to 1934 and in 1937. The yard seam was worked between 1934 and 1938 and then again in 1947.

In 1927 it employed 136 men, in 1933 it employed 198 men, in 193 it employed 174 men, and in 1938 it employed 166 men underground and 43 men on the surface and was managed by A.M. Morgan. In 1943/5 it employed 129 men underground working the Four-Feet seam and 48 men on the surface of the mine and was owned by Thomas’ Merthyr Colliery Company (it was owned by this company in 1929). It was then managed by D. Jones.

Upon Nationalisation in 1947 it employed 143 men and was still managed by D. Jones. It closed in 1947.
