PARK. Dewsbury, Yorkshire. 7th. April, 1879.
The colliery was owned by The Park Coal Company and an explosion of firedamp killed five men.
Those who died were:
- William Jamieson aged 34 years, miner.
- John Bower aged 39 years, miner.
- James Haley, miner.
- Adam Sykes, miner.
- T. Wooley, miner.
