Barmby Furscoe Explosion – Barnsley – 1803

BARMBY FURSCOE. Barnsley, Yorkshire. 1803.

The colliery was sunk by the Low Moor Company and land leased from Walter Spencer Stanhope of Cannon Hall about 1802.  Between twenty and thirty people lost their lives in an explosion.
