Nicholas Trestrail died in Cornwall on May 23rd, 1922, aged 63.
In 1878 he was articled as pupil to the late Mr. John Hocking, of Redruth, a well-known consulting mining engineer, and in 1884, on Mr. Hocking’s decease, he succeeded to the practice. In the course of the 38 years from that date he acted as consulting engineer to most of the Cornish mines of any importance, and he was recognized as an authority on mining machinery, more especially pumping plant and winding for deep mines. In that connexion his services were frequently requisitioned for mines in the North of England.
Mr. Trestrail was elected a Member of the Institution in 1912.
