David Davey Rosewarne died on May 6th, 1916, aged 62 years.
He was a native of Cornwall and had been engaged in mining pursuits since he was 15 years of age. After spending some years in the United States — in Pennsylvania, California and Nevada — he went to Australia, where he managed several mines in New South Wales. He was manager of two gold mines in New Zealand for ii short period, but he soon returned to Australia, and for several years established himself in South Australia.
Besides some appointments as mine manager, Mr. Rosewarne was at one time Inspector of Mines of South Australia and Warden of the Gold Fields of South Australia. During the latter part of his life he spent more time in England, though he made several professional visits to Australia, his last trip being taken to Yudnamutana in South Australia in 1914.
Mr. Rosewarne was elected a Member of the Institution in 1892.
