Horace Patrick Robertson died at Chester Basin, Nova Scotia; in May, 1938, at the age of 69.
He graduated from Melbourne University in 1890 with the degree of Bachelor of Civil Engineering, subsequently in 1893 obtaining the degree of Master of C.E. From 1890 to 1906 he was engaged, mostly in Western Australia, during which period he was general manager of Lake View and Boulder Junction gold mines for five years and of Mount Elliott, Ltd., North Queensland, for a shorter space.
After about a year spent in Mexico he returned to Australia as manager of Gwalia Consolidated, Ltd., and in 1910 left the Commonwealth to engage in reporting work in West Africa, Italy and Hungary, later becoming general manager of the St. Ives Consolidated Mines in Cornwall. More recently he was engaged in Turkey and South West Africa and for a time was in partnership with Mr. H.N. Sandys as consulting engineers.
Mr. Robertson was elected a Member of the Institution in 1911.
