Leopold Arthur Millett died at Limini, Greece, on November 3rd, 1930, of blackwater fever, at the age of 49.
He received his early technical training at the Penzance Mining and Science Schools, and in July, 1902, started practical work at the Carn Brea and Tin Croft mines in Cornwall, meanwhile attending evening classes at the Camborne School of Mines.
He remained in Cornwall until 1904, when he obtained an appointment as selector at the Rio Tinto Copper Company’s mines in Spain, subsequently being transferred to the position of assistant in charge of the pyritic smelting plant.
During the War he served in the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, and in 1922 he went to Greece to join the staff of the Anglo-Greek Magnesite Co., Ltd., of which he was manager at the date of his death.
Mr. Millett was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1909.
