Edwin Ludlow died at Muskogee, Oklahoma, U.S.A., on February 10th, 1924, at the age of 66.
He graduated at the Columbia School of Mines and almost immediately on completion of his course there entered the anthracite industry in Pennsylvania, in which he speedily occupied a prominent position. When Oklahoma became the cause of a boom, he was instrumental in developing coalfields in the ‘Panhandle State,’ afterwards returning to Pennsylvania. He was an active and influential member of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, which celebrated its Jubilee during the year in which he was President.
Mr. Ludlow was elected an Honorary Member of the Institution in 1921.
