George Hamilton Lloyd is presumed to have died in August, 1915, as nothing has been heard of him since that date and it is feared that he must have been the victim of an accident. At the time all trace of him was lost; he was 59 years of age.
Mr. Lloyd had been in practice as a consulting engineer for more than thirty years, and visited many parts of the world on his various reporting journeys. His professional duties took him to New Zealand; to Australia; to South Africa, where he examined and reported on gold mines in the Transvaal and diamond mines in Cape Colony and the Orange Free State; and to South America, where he made reports on gold mines in Chile and a large group of tin mines in Bolivia.
Mr. Lloyd was elected a Member of the Institution in 1894.
