Hamilton Liddiard died in Northern Nigeria on July 31st, 1939, at the age of 53.
From 1902 to 1904 he was a student at the Ballarat School of Mines, and then gained experience in lode mining in the Ballarat and Blackwood districts of Victoria.
In 1906 he was appointed Government battery manager in the Blackwood and Daylesford districts, but in 1915 relinquished the position to serve with the Australian Expeditionary Force in the Great War.
On conclusion of hostilities he-came to England for a course at the Chelsea Polytechnic, after which he went to Nigeria, where he was associated with the Keffi Consolidated and other tin mining companies. More recently he was connected with the Argus Tin Corporation.
Mr. Liddiard was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1919 and was elected an Associate in 1929.
