Alexandre Lhéraud died in 1951 at the age of 65.
He was born at Macon (Saône-et-Loire) and attended the Paris School of Mines (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines), obtaining the diploma of Ingénieur Civil des Mines in 1910.
From leaving the School until his death M. Lhéraud was employed by the Société Minière et Metallurgique de Pefiarroya and their subsidiary company the Società Mineraria e Metallurgica di Pertusola.
He spent the early part of his career in Spain, from 1910 to 1916 at the Houillière de Peñarroya, where he became chief engineer, and then for three years as chief engineer at El Soldado lead mines, followed by one year at La Carolina mines. He was employed from 1921 to 1922 as chief engineer at Puertollano, and in July, 1922, transferred to the Sardinian mines of the Società Mineraria e Metallurgica di Pertusola. He was made general manager of that company in 1923, with headquarters in Genoa, where he remained until his death.
He was elected to Associate Membership of the Institution in 1940.
