Trevor Edward Lewis was killed in action in France on August 28th, 1915, whilst serving as a Captain in the South Wales Borderers. He was about 27 years of age.
In 1909 he took Honours in the Natural Science Tripos at Cambridge, and then spent two and a half years at the Coed-Ely Colliery, in Glamorganshire, as head surveyor. Subsequently he entered the Royal School of Mines as at mining student, but soon after the outbreak of war he abandoned his studies and obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the South Wales Borderers, ultimately being promoted Captain as has already been mentioned.
Mr. Lewis was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1913.
