Bernard Angus Johnson was killed in action some time in 1918, aged 33 years.
From October, 1905, to July, 1910, he was a student at Freiberg, Saxony, where he was awarded the Diploma in metallurgy in 1910. In the following year he joined the staff at the reduction works of the Simmer Deep-Jupiter Gold Mining properties in the Transvaal, where he was engaged in cyaniding, milling and assaying.
Coming home after the outbreak of war, he enlisted as a private in the 5th Battalion of the East Kent Regiment (The Buffs).
Mr. Johnson was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1913.
