Charles William Hall died in the General Hospital, Singapore, after a long and painful illness, on February 20th, 1933, at the age of 51.
He entered the Royal School of Mines in 1901 and graduated with the A.R.S.M. in 1904, but he remained for another twelve months in order to carry on research work. In 1906 he sailed to the Malay States to take up a position as assistant to Messrs. Osborne & Chappel, and he continued in the peninsula for the remainder of his life, first with the firm mentioned, afterwards for a time as partner in the firm of Mace, Hall & Co., Ltd., at Kuala Lumpur. He was manager in succession of the Lahat Kiri Mine, the Sungei Besi Mines, Ltd., and other properties at Perak, Selangor, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.
Mr Hall was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1903, and was transferred to Associateship in 1911.
