Reuben Henry Gwyn-Williams, Junior, died of cholera at The Kodigaon Mine, Nagpur, India, on August 25th, 1928.
He received his technical training at the Redruth School of Mines and in some of the Cornish tin mines, and on the completion of his course at this school he was appointed engineer in the service of the Société Ammyme de Recherches Miniéres du Bas-Katanga, in the Belgian Congo, where his duties involved prospecting, surveying, and assaying.
ln 1913 he transferred to Nigeria, where he remained for about two years, after which he joined H.M. Forces in January, 1915, and served in Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. In 1920 he was appointed engineer and year later mine manager to the Indian Manganese Co., Ltd., first at Balaghat, Central Provinces, and subsequently at Kodigaon mine, Nagpur District.
Mr. Gwyn-Williams was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1923.
