John Benjamin Gundry died suddenly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya, on 25th June, 1951, at the age of 23.
He was educated at the Crypt Grammar School, Gloucester, and Penzance County School, and entered the Camborne School of Mines in 1946. On obtaining his A.C.S.M. in 1949 he was appointed junior mining engineer with Pahang Consolidated Co., Ltd., at Sungei Lembing, Malaya, a position which he held at the time of his death.
Mr. Gundry was elected a Student of this Institution in 1950.
