Arthur George Coleman died rather suddenly on September 6th, 1928, in the Federated Malay States, at the age of 57.
He was for ten years engaged on engineering, constructional and architectural work in England prior to entering the mining profession in 1899, when he was engaged by the late Mr. G.G. Warnford Lock to go to the Wentworth Gold Fields Proprietary, Ltd., Lucknow, New South Wales. Altogether, he spent about three years in Australia, and he was then appointed, at Mr. Warnford Lock’s instance, as manager of a 40 stamp mill on the Raub Australian Gold Mining Co’s property at Raub, Malay Peninsula. He remained with that Company for upwards of ten years, and subsequently was with the Selanger River Tin Co., and finally with the Tebak Tin Field, Ltd., Kemaman, Malay States.
