Ernest Gerald Dustow, of the South African Air Force, is reported to have been killed while on active service in North Africa.

He was educated at Redruth County School from 1928 to 1935, and received his professional training at Camborne School of Mines from 1935 to 1938. On completing his course he went to the Transvaal as official learner at Brakpan Mines, Ltd., and during his two years there worked on mine sampling, valuation, and surveying.

He joined the South African Air Force on July 1st, 1940, and was subsequently reported missing. It is believed that he was shot down over Tobruk.

Mr. Dustow was elected a Student of the Institution in 1938.
