In 1909, he went to West Africa, as reduction officer on Prestea Block ‘A ’, and subsequently, he became almost exclusively engaged in reporting work, which took him to Madagascar, Rhodesia, Northern China, the Republic of Colombia, and other countries. Latterly, he engaged in consulting work on his own account in London.
