Donald James Browne died of influenza, at Rossland, B.C., on October 30th, 1918, aged 38 years.
He received his technical training at the Royal School of Mines, London, from 1897 to 1900, and passed out with an Associateship in metallurgy. He went through a further course in mining and surveying in 1902, and in March, 1905, went to the Le Roi No.2, Ltd., Rossland, B.C., where he acted in the various capacities of milling, sampling, assaying and surveying, until the date of his fatal illness.
Mr. Browne was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1910.
