Louis John Abrahams died on January 1st, 1927. He graduated from the Royal School of Mines in 1897, and returned to South Africa, where he was born, to enter the employment of the New Primrose Gold Mining Co. in the Transvaal. In 1899 he was back in England as an Assistant in Surveying at the School of Mines.
In 1900 he went to Canada as chief engineer and subsequently as manager of the Bruce Copper Mines, Ltd., in Ontario. Eventually he engaged in consulting practice in London. Mr. Abrahams was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1898, and was transferred to Associateship in 1902.
