SURFACE – Eleven members turned out for the archaeological surface walk to, Fox Clough and Trawden Collieries in Colne. Our meet leader had prepared a hand out, which gave an overview of the history as well as some interesting maps to peruse. Another member had some previous knowledge of the site and he provided a great deal of information in the form of maps down loaded to his mobile device. We discovered that someone has been tiding the site up which made the archaeology a lot easier to see. So who ever it is they are doing a good job.
