British Mining No 33 – The Yorkshire & Lancashire Lead Mines
by M.C. Gill
Located amongst the rolling mid-Pennine hills are numerous traces of man’s search for lead over the centuries. Some have left significant remains over which the historian can ponder, others are remote and half forgotten.
This monograph pulls together the many threads of history to give a readable account of these mines and the men behind the operation.
This publication is now out of print, however we do have a number of second hand ones available. These will be clean inside, but might have some fading on the spine. It is also available as a PDF to download from this site, for use on computers and tablets.
