Shafts
Two shafts, downcast and upcast, completed c1876.

Winding
New twin cylinder horizontal winding engine supplied by Walker Bros. for No.1 (downcast) shaft 1908. Cylinders 17 inches x 36 inches, slide valves, steam 100psi.
Wooden headgears at both shafts.
Electric winders installed and steel headgears erected c.1958.

Ventilation
Walker Bros. supplied “Indestructible” fan and engine 1900.
Fan 12 feet x 5 feet, pulley 5 feet diameter, 5 ropes 15/8 inches diameter, 160,000cfm. at 3 inches wg.
Single cylinder horizontal engine 18 inches x 36 inches, Meyer slide valves, teak lagging, steam 100psi., Flywheel 14 feet diameter (7½ tons).

Power (other than steam)
Electricity 3300 volts, compressed air.

Seams worked (1931) – Arley, Bone, King, Yard, Smith.

Output – 125,000 tons pia.

Workforce – U/G 412, S/F 105.

Seams worked (1954) – Six Feet, New Mine, Four Feet, Upper King.

Workforce – U/G 216, S/F 48
